This talk will present the Bio-Ilhas project, which aims to restore degraded saltmarsh and salt pans environments, and to promote biodiversity conservation through the implementation of artificial islands in saltpans. With the implementation of these islands and the requalification of degraded salt marsh slopes, we will help to maintain populations of breeding birds such as the Little tern, the Collared pratincole and the Kentish plover, among others. This project is being implemented in the municipalities of Olhão and Faro, by Vita Nativa in partnership with Viridia, Conservation in Action.
