Perhaps the steepest learning curve in bird identification is in nocturnal flight calls, picked up from anyone's garden or balcony ('nocmig'). Unable to go to the field, many new participants have joined this year. A new legion of citizen scientists has taught us that, e.g. Western Swamphens migrate over Spanish city centres or mass flights of Common Scoter take place over central England. A guide to these sounds is urgently needed, and Magnus Robb of The Sound Approach is producing one, together with Lukas Pelikan. In this lecture, Magnus talks about the latest developments.
Participate also in the practical approach to this methodology, today after the lecture (3/october at 7:30 pm).
this activity is facilitated by Magnus Robb.
