Megalithic Sunset | Night Walk | Birds & Astronomy
Interpretative night walk of about 3km for 3 hours on the megalithic trail of “Pedra Escorregadia”, in Vila do Bispo. This walk will be led by the archaeologist Ricardo Soares (Municipality of Vila do Bispo) and the astronomer Fernando Pimenta. Many diverse information will be shared about the local menhirs and the remote pre-historical cultures evolved in the monumentalization of these landscapes. The decorations on some menhirs will be observed by using a special light, revealing secrets hiden during day time. The relation between menhirs and astronomy will also be revealed.
After, participants will have the opportunity to see the sky and discover some mythological stories about (depending on weather conditions).
