Description:

A less known activity offering great scientific and educational interest. Bird ringing involves capturing, marking, studying (e.g. measurements) and subsequent release of birds. A good opportunity to see at very close quarters the birds that every year pass through this region!

Recommendations:

Participants must bring their cars from the meeting point to the bird ringing site. We suggest that participants share cars so that the lowest possible number of vehicles is used.


Participants in this activity should respect the following rules of conduct, to guarantee the birds welfare:

- Guard a 2m safety distance from birds around the ringing zone.

- Do not run near the ringing zone nor near the ringing nets.

- Parents should help their children in following this rules.

Instructors may ask participants who do not follow these rules to leave the site and the activity, so the safety of birds is guaranteed.

Inscription: Prior booking is essential. With rain and winds exceeding 15 km / h, the sessions can be canceled, for bird and net safety.

NOTE: To enjoy this discount price you will have to pick up your festival bracelet at the event office, located in Beliche Fortress, or at the meeting point of this activity.
